✨ The Collection

Light & Shadow Atelier is a set of six cutout stencil designs for experimenting with projected patterns in small tabletop photographs. Window grids, architectural openings, and stylized botanical silhouettes offer different ways to introduce lines and shadows around a subject.

Print the templates, cut the marked openings, and position a stencil on a separate support between a suitable external light and your scene. Shadow sharpness and size depend on the light source, distance, room lighting, and cut quality. The kit contains no lamp, electrical parts, or finished physical stencil.

Supplies You’ll Need

Opaque cardstock, a printer, cutting mat, suitable cutting tools, an independent support, and an external light source. Materials and equipment are purchased separately.

⚠️ Lighting & Cutting Safety

Never tape, clip, or rest a paper stencil on a lamp or light housing. Use a separate stable support and follow the light manufacturer’s clearance requirements. Do not use candles, exposed hot bulbs, or other heat-producing effects. Stop immediately if the stencil warms, discolors, or curls. Interior cutting requires adult handling.

📖 Quick-Start Instructions

Print the selected template at 100%.
Place it on a cutting mat and carefully remove the marked openings.
Support the stencil independently from the light.
Aim the light through the openings toward your scene.
Adjust the light, stencil, and subject positions gradually while maintaining safe clearances.
Record a useful arrangement on the worksheet; turn off the light before leaving the setup.

Computer & Printing Requirements

You’ll need a device that can download and open PDF and JPG or PNG files. If files are supplied in a ZIP folder, extract the folder before opening its contents.

Use a PDF reader with an Actual Size / 100% printing option. A desktop or laptop is recommended for checking scale and print settings. No paid design subscription is required.

Print on US Letter paper, 8.5" × 11". Matte cardstock around 65–80 lb cover, approximately 176–216 gsm, may be suitable, but use only a weight supported by your printer. Check its manual before loading heavier stock.

The files are flattened and are not editable design templates, 3D-printing models, or cutting-machine files. Enlarging beyond the stated dimensions may reduce image quality and change how components fit.

Color & Photography Notes

Screens, printers, ink, paper, and lighting reproduce colors differently. Print a test sheet before producing the full set.

Illustrated stone, wood, metal, fabric, and reflective finishes are printed visual effects. Unless specifically listed, the files do not create real material texture, metallic shine, transparency, reflections, or illumination.

Suggested subject sizes are composition guidelines, not guaranteed fits. Camera angle, lens choice, subject width, and distance affect the usable image area.

Use a cutting mat and handle sharp tools carefully.
Follow adhesive instructions and let components dry before use.
Place finished scenes on a stable, level surface.

Store paper components flat, dry, and away from direct heat.

These are hobby photography materials, not toys, protective enclosures, or structural display equipment. Adult assembly is recommended. Keep small cut pieces, tools, and adhesives away from children and pets.

Your Usage License

One purchase licenses one individual or one business to print and assemble the files for its own photography work.

You may use photographs you create with the assembled scenes in personal projects, social media, product listings, advertising, and client photography.

You may not share, redistribute, sublicense, or resell the source files, extracted artwork, printed backdrop sheets, or assembled kits. Do not upload the artwork as a standalone stock image or print-on-demand design.
